2019 Mathews Traverse: Do It All...Well For 2019 Mathews released the pinnacle of the Halon design that can do it all, the Traverse. This bow features the venerable Crosscentric Cam System proven since the original Halon series bows. What has changed however is the Engage grip that provides a slightly higher wrist than previous Flatback grips. The Traverse also features a riser design that is more deflexed than previous Halon style bows for a more forgiving platform. Pair that with the Traverse's 33" axle to axle length and 6 5/8" brace height and you now have a bow that crosses over from strictly bowhunting onto target archery as well as recreational archery. In this review, we got through the new features such as the Switchweight Cam System and new Engage grip, color options such as Sitka Elevated 2 and Realtree Edge as well as our package options in store for the new Mathews Vertix. We then move on to shooting the Vertix where we give a detailed description of the draw cycle, letoff, valley, vibration as well as an overall how it feels to shoot. SHOOT FOR REID RESULTS! This was a special Benefit Target Tuesday event for one of our customers 3 year old boy Reid! He has been through brain surgery right after he was born then diagnosed with EoE and after a few months he could no longer eat normally. He is now on a direct feeding into his body. He was diagnosed recently with autism as well. We helped put this benefit on so that the family can be away from work for an extended period of time to see some of the leading experts in this field in Boston and Cincinnati to determine how to treat and help the little guy. FLAGSHIP PERFORMANCE, MID RANGE PRICE Whats New? For 2019, Mission has continued their philosophy of using past flagship technology in an affordable package. The new Mission MXR uses cams that are very familiar to those found on the No Cam, Avail and TRX target bow line up on a slim, lighter weight riser than all of those bows. This bows cam is modular which means to adjust draw length you do have to have a separate module. One advantage to this is at shorter draws in particular, you will retain speed better than most all rotating module bows. It also features a string stop that is common place in all modern bows.
